Insécurité à Port-au-Prince : Une journée sous les tirs et les barricades

La région métropolitaine de Port-au-Prince s’est réveillée ce matin dans un climat de chaos et de tension extrême. Des tirs nourris à l’arme automatique ont retenti dans les communes de Port-au-Prince, Delmas et Pétion-Ville, plongeant les résidents dans la peur et l’incertitude.

Sur les principales artères, des barricades de pneus enflammés ont été érigées, rendant la circulation quasiment impossible. Certaines routes stratégiques, notamment celles menant à Canapé-Vert, sont totalement bloquées. Pendant ce temps, des habitants de plusieurs quartiers, déterminés à défendre leur communauté, se mobilisent pour repousser les bandits qui ont tenté d’envahir Pétion-Ville à l’aube.

Dans le quartier de Musseau, la Police Nationale d’Haïti (PNH) a intercepté un camion transportant des individus armés. Selon une source policière, ces bandits avaient pour objectif de s’établir à Pétion-Ville et dans le haut Delmas pour mener des représailles. Grâce à une action conjointe entre la PNH et les citoyens, certains de ces individus ont été neutralisés. Plus d’une vingtaine d’entre eux ont été capturés et exécutés par des groupes de résidents en colère, illustrant la montée en puissance d’une justice populaire communément appelée “Bwa Kale.

Les scènes de violence se multiplient dans la capitale. À Lalue, Bourdon, Ruelle Rivière et sur l’avenue Panaméricaine, des cadavres jonchent les rues, témoins d’affrontements sanglants. La PNH, soutenue par une population en révolte, poursuit la traque des bandits qui se sont réfugiés dans ces zones sensibles.

Cette mobilisation conjointe peut signifier un tournant dans la lutte contre l’insécurité. Cependant, elle soulève aussi des inquiétudes quant aux dérives potentielles de la justice populaire et à l’escalade de la violence. Alors que la journée avance, les habitants de Port-au-Prince restent sur le qui-vive, espérant un retour au calme dans une capitale qui peine à retrouver un semblant de normalité.
