Port-au-Prince en flammes : le cri désespéré des citoyens ignorés

Ce week-end, les habitants de Poupelard et de Poste Marchand ont vécu l’enfer. Des rafales d’armes automatiques ont déchiré le calme de ces quartiers, semant terreur et chaos. Des bandits lourdement armés ont attaqué des civils, transformant ces zones en champs de bataille. Tout au long de la journée de dimanche, les tirs sporadiques résonnaient encore, plongeant les riverains dans une peur indescriptible.

Des colonnes de fumée s’élevaient dans ces quartiers, témoignant des violences en cours. Les habitants, démunis et désespérés, ont lancé des appels à l’aide aux autorités. Malheureusement, comme trop souvent, ces cris semblent se perdre dans un vide abyssal. La seule nouvelle qui aurait pu constituer un rayon d’espoir est la mort de Kendy, alias Jeff Mafia, le numéro 2 de la bande criminelle dirigée par le tristement célèbre Barbecue. Ce dernier a été tué lors d’échanges de tirs avec les forces de l’ordre. Cependant, cette victoire relative ne change rien à la réalité quotidienne : la violence persiste, et les gangs continuent de régner en maîtres absolus sur plusieurs territoires.

L’hôpital Bernard Mevs, situé sur la route de l’aéroport, n’a pas été épargné. Dimanche soir, des individus armés ont attaqué cet établissement de santé, déjà fragilisé par les nombreuses crises. Grâce à l’intervention rapide de la Police Nationale d’Haïti (PNH), l’assaut a été repoussé, mais les stigmates de cet événement ajoutent une couche supplémentaire à la détresse de la population. La sécurisation du périmètre par la PNH ne rassure que faiblement, surtout dans un contexte où plusieurs centres hospitaliers de Port-au-Prince ont été détruits par des gangs.

Face à cette situation désastreuse, les autorités haïtiennes peinent à convaincre. Le Premier Ministre de facto, Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, a annoncé des mesures contre l’insécurité. Cependant, plusieurs jours après ces déclarations, aucune action concrète n’est visible sur le terrain. Les promesses restent des mots vides, tandis que les gangs continuent de s’emparer de nouveaux territoires, consolidant leur emprise sur la capitale. La population, quant à elle, est abandonnée à son sort. Chaque jour, elle subit l’indifférence d’un État démissionnaire et l’absence de mesures pour la protéger. Les citoyens, livrés à eux-mêmes, s’accrochent à une lueur d’espoir, mais combien de temps encore pourront-ils tenir dans ce climat infernal?

Port-au-Prince est en flammes, non seulement au sens propre, mais aussi symboliquement. Les appels au secours, les cris de détresse et les supplications s’élèvent, mais restent désespérément ignorés. Combien de temps faudra-t-il avant que les dirigeants entendent enfin la voix d’un peuple à bout de souffle?
