Dans un décor sobre, aux couleurs violettes et blanches, l’auditorium du Collège Canado-Haïtien a accueilli parents, professeurs, camarades et amis, venus honorer la mémoire de Wanderson Zamy, ce mardi 26 août 2025.
La famille du défunt, M. Sony Zamy et son épouse, accompagnés de leur fille, a pris place au premier rang pour participer à cette cérémonie empreinte de dignité et organisée par les Frères du Sacré-Cœur. Le jeune Wanderson, âgé de 19 ans, a été tué d’une balle tirée par un agent de sécurité du ministère de l’Éducation nationale, le 18 août dernier, devant les locaux de ladite institution.
Une étoile sacrifiée sur l’autel de l’indifférence et de la bêtise… Devant cette perte brutale, le Frère Junior Pierre, directeur du Collège, a tenu à rappeler que « nul discours, nul langage, aussi élaboré soit-il, ne peut apaiser les justes et légitimes questionnements provoqués par une telle cruauté ».
Le professeur Sénatus Rodrigue, proche conseiller et accompagnateur de Wanderson, a pris la parole pour décrire son ancien élève comme « un jeune chéri de tous, un fils adoptif » au sein de l’établissement. Ému, il a raconté avec nostalgie : « Menm si m pa gen kou nan sal li a, lè m ap pase, timoun yo toujou di : Zamy men Sénatus tande. Konsa menm si l pa konn leson l, li leve vin salye m : “Mèt la sa k gen la ? M pa konn leson an non l, jere m.” »
Aux camarades présents, le professeur Sénatus les a invités à ne pas pleurer, mais plutôt à célébrer la vie de Wanderson, symbole de persévérance et d’espoir.
De son côté, M. Sony Zamy, le père du défunt, a pris la parole avec courage et émotion pour retracer la biographie de son fils tant aimé. Passionné de basketball, dès l’âge de 4 ans, Wanderson faisait partie d’une école de basket appelée « Persévérance ». « C’est lui qui m’a appris le jeu de basketball », a confié M. Zamy, lui-même professeur et comptable de profession, il voyait déjà en son fils un professionnel de la NBA.
Le Rév. Père Lanes Phanord, S.M.M., de la congrégation Montfortaine, a profité de son homélie pour rappeler à l’assemblée que, malgré la fragilité de la condition humaine, la mort n’est pas une fin : « Le vrai tombeau des morts se trouve dans le cœur des vivants. »
La cérémonie s’est conclue par un moment de communion où chaque participant a pu saluer la famille Zamy et leur transmettre des paroles de courage et de réconfort, dans ce deuil partagé.
