La patronale de Saint Gérard de Carrefour-Feuilles célébrée à Delmas

Déplacée de son site habituel à cause de l’insécurité qui sévit à Carrefour-Feuilles, la paroisse Saint Gérard a célébré cette année la fête de son saint patron à Delmas 33, dans un esprit de foi, de résilience et d’espérance.

Loin de leur territoire habituel, et dans un contexte d’insécurité grandissante, la paroisse Saint Gérard de Carrefour-Feuilles a célébré, ce jeudi 16 octobre 2025, la fête de son saint patron à Delmas 33, dans la chapelle Saint Padre Pio.

Dans un décor soigneusement préparé pour l’occasion, Mgr Sander Louis-Jean, évêque auxiliaire de l’archidiocèse de Port-au-Prince, a présidé ce jeudi 16 octobre 2025 la solennité de Saint Gérard Majella. De nombreux fidèles, dispersés depuis les violences qui ont secoué Carrefour-Feuilles en février dernier, se sont rassemblés avec émotion et conviction pour honorer leur saint patron. Tous nourrissent l’espoir d’un jour pouvoir célébrer à nouveau sur leur territoire d’origine.

Le nouveau curé de la paroisse, le Révérend Père Duckens Félix, a exprimé sa profonde gratitude envers les fidèles qui ont participé aux neuf jours de prière de la neuvaine préparatoire à la fête, malgré les moments difficiles. Il a également remercié les confrères prêtres ayant accompagné la communauté durant cette période spirituelle.

Depuis le mois de mai dernier, le Révérend Père Francky Désir, curé de la paroisse Notre-Dame d’Altagrâce, a mis à la disposition du Père Félix et des paroissiens de Saint Gérard la chapelle Saint Padre Pio à Delmas. Chaque dimanche, les fidèles continuent d’y vivre leur foi, dans l’attente d’un retour paisible à Carrefour-Feuilles.
