Survivre, espérer, recommencer : Haïti au seuil de 2026

Entre violences, pénuries et détresse sociale, l’année 2025 aura profondément éprouvé Haïti. Pourtant, au fil des jours et malgré l’adversité, une même réalité s’est imposée : celle d’un peuple qui refuse de céder. À l’aube de 2026, Haïti se tient debout, entre survie quotidienne, espoir persistant et volonté de recommencer.

2025 restera comme l’une des plus éprouvantes de l’histoire récente du pays. L’insécurité généralisée a provoqué des déplacements massifs de populations, forçant des milliers de familles à abandonner leurs maisons, leurs quartiers et parfois leurs repères les plus élémentaires. À cette crise humaine s’est ajoutée une pénurie persistante de carburant, aggravée par l’existence de zones de non-droit et de multiples blocages, paralysant une grande partie des activités économiques et sociales.

Dans le même temps, la flambée des prix des produits de première nécessité a accentué la précarité des ménages. Le coût de la vie a atteint des sommets, rendant l’accès à l’alimentation, aux soins de santé et aux services de base de plus en plus difficile pour une large frange de la population déjà fragilisée.

Mais survivre est devenu un acte quotidien. Malgré les épreuves, la vie ne s’est pas arrêtée. Les Madan Sara continuent d’arpenter les rues, jour et nuit, pour approvisionner les marchés. Les commerces et supermarchés, confrontés à de lourdes contraintes, restent ouverts et accueillent élèves, étudiants, parents et travailleurs venus chercher de quoi subvenir aux besoins essentiels de leurs familles. Ces scènes ordinaires racontent une résilience silencieuse, mais puissante.

Espérer, aussi, malgré tout. Plus d’une centaine d’associations et d’organisations ont mené, au cours de l’année, des actions à caractère humanitaire et social en faveur des personnes déplacées et des patients hospitalisés. Dons, conférences, activités socioculturelles et initiatives solidaires ont permis d’apporter un soutien moral et matériel, tout en nourrissant l’idée qu’un autre avenir demeure possible.

L’année 2025 restera également marquée par le sacrifice de nombreux policiers tombés dans l’exercice de leurs fonctions. Des dizaines d’agents ont perdu la vie en tentant de protéger la population. Derrière ces pertes, ce sont des familles endeuillées, des communautés meurtries et une nation confrontée à sa douleur. Pourtant, même dans le deuil, l’espoir continue de subsister, car l’espoir fait vivre.

Recommencer, enfin. En ce 1er janvier 2026, Haïti ne célèbre pas une victoire, mais affirme une détermination. Des voix s’élèvent, des initiatives émergent et une volonté collective de changement commence à se dessiner. Porté par la résilience de son peuple, le pays entre dans la nouvelle année avec la conviction que, malgré les cicatrices, il est encore possible de reconstruire, pas à pas, un avenir meilleur.
