Réunis en l’église Notre-Dame d’Altagrace ce mercredi 11 mars 2026, parents, amis et confrères ont rendu un dernier hommage au journaliste-cameraman Wilkins Clermont. La cérémonie a célébré la mémoire d’un professionnel fauché prématurément par un accident vasculaire cérébral le 4 mars dernier.
Un hommage bien mérité a été rendu au journaliste cameraman Wilkins Clermont ce mercredi 11 mars 2026, lors de ses funérailles chantées à l’église Notre-Dame d’Altagrace de Delmas. La cérémonie s’est déroulée en présence de membres de sa famille, d’amis ainsi que de plusieurs confrères journalistes venus saluer une dernière fois la mémoire de ce professionnel des médias.
Dans son homélie de circonstance, le célébrant principal, le révérend Père Robert Junior Remarais, a rendu hommage au parcours et à l’engagement du défunt. Il a également invité les proches et les fidèles présents à réfléchir sur leur foi et sur la manière de vivre l’amour du prochain, posant cette question : “Est-ce que nous nous aimons réellement les uns les autres ? Faisons-nous l’effort d’aimer par des actes et en vérité ?”
La fille unique du défunt journaliste, ne pouvant assister aux funérailles de son père, a adressé ces propos à travers un message pré-enregistré diffusé à l’église à la fin de la cérémonie funéraire.
Pour rappel, Wilkins Clermont avait été victime d’un accident vasculaire cérébral (AVC) le 4 mars 2026, alors qu’il se trouvait dans une salle de sport.
