Copa America : Le Brésil freiné par le Costa Rica pour son entrée lice

Malgré une domination outrageuse, le Brésil, l’un des grands favoris, n’a pas réussi à faire mieux qu’un 0-0 face au Costa Rica lors de son premier match de la Copa America 2024, hier soir au SoFi Stadium.

Dès le début du match, les intentions brésiliennes étaient claires : attaquer et marquer rapidement. Vinicius Junior, auteur d’une saison exceptionnelle avec le Real Madrid, a multiplié les dribbles et les centres dangereux, mais sans succès. Neymar, absent sur le terrain à cause d’une blessure, était présent en tribune pour soutenir ses coéquipiers.

La Seleção a eu plusieurs occasions de marquer, notamment un but de Marquinhos annulé pour hors-jeu après consultation de la VAR. En seconde période, Lucas Paqueta a trouvé le poteau à la 63e minute d’une frappe puissante, et Bruno Guimarães a vu son tir repoussé par un arrêt réflexe de Sequeira à la 79e minute. Le Costa Rica, bien regroupé en défense et procédant par contre-attaques rapides, n’a jamais été réellement dangereux.

Ce résultat est un coup d’arrêt pour le Brésil, qui ambitionne de remporter son 10e titre de Copa America. La Seleção devra se remobiliser et trouver des solutions pour être plus efficace offensivement pour son prochain match, vendredi contre le Paraguay, s’ils veulent espérer se qualifier pour les quarts de finale.
