Le monde culturel et médiatique haïtien pleure la disparition de Robert “Bobby” Denis, figure majeure du son et défenseur infatigable de la presse libre. Décédé le mardi 14 octobre 2025, l’ingénieur du son légendaire et président de l’ANMH laisse derrière lui un héritage artistique et professionnel qui a profondément marqué plusieurs générations d’artistes et de journalistes haïtiens.
Le monde culturel haïtien est en deuil. Robert Denis, plus connu sous le nom de “Bobby”, ingénieur du son de légende et président de l’Association Nationale des Médias Haïtiens (ANMH), s’est éteint mardi soir 14 octobre 2025. Figure emblématique de la modernisation du son en Haïti et dans la Caraïbe, il laisse derrière lui un héritage sonore inestimable.
Dans une note officielle publiée ce 15 octobre 2025, le Premier ministre Alix Didier Fils-Aimé a salué la mémoire de ce pilier de la musique haïtienne. “C’est avec une profonde tristesse que le gouvernement de la République d’Haïti a appris la nouvelle du décès de Robert Denis, un homme qui a su marquer l’histoire de la musique et des médias dans notre pays”, a-t-il déclaré.
Fondateur du célèbre studio Audiotek, Bobby Denis était reconnu pour son oreille unique, sa rigueur professionnelle et sa passion débordante pour le son. De la fin des années 1970 jusqu’au début des années 2000, il a contribué à façonner l’identité sonore d’une génération d’artistes. Des icônes telles qu’Ansy Derose, Coupé Cloué, Isnard Douby, Fred Paul ou encore Raymond Cajuste ont trouvé en Audiotek non seulement un studio, mais un lieu de rencontre, d’échange et de création.
Bobby n’était pas seulement un ingénieur du son, il était aussi un militant de la liberté de la presse et un ardent défenseur de l’indépendance des médias haïtiens. À la tête de l’ANMH, il a mené de nombreux combats pour la reconnaissance des valeurs professionnelles dans le paysage médiatique national.
“Robert Denis était un homme généreux, simple et profondément attaché à la culture et aux médias de son pays”, a souligné le Premier ministre. Grâce à son talent, sa discipline et sa vision, il a contribué à diffuser la joie à travers la musique et à projeter l’art haïtien au-delà de nos frontières.
Le décès de Robert Denis laisse un vide immense dans le cœur de ses proches, de ses collaborateurs notamment ceux de Canal Bleu et de toute la communauté artistique, médiatique et culturelle, tant en Haïti que dans la région caribéenne.
Le gouvernement haïtien adresse ses condoléances émues à la famille de Robert Denis, à ses amis, ainsi qu’à tous ceux qui ont eu le privilège de collaborer avec lui.
