Face à la recrudescence des rapatriements massifs d’Haïtiens depuis la République dominicaine, la France accorde une aide de 2 millions d’euros à l’Organisation internationale pour les migrations (OIM). Ce financement souhaite renforcer les efforts de réintégration et d’assistance humanitaire aux migrants de retour dans leur pays.
Dans un geste de solidarité face à la crise migratoire haïtienne, l’ambassade de France a annoncé une contribution de 2 millions d’euros à l’Organisation internationale pour les migrations (OIM), destinée à soutenir la réintégration des Haïtiens expulsés de la République dominicaine.
Ce financement permettra de renforcer l’assistance humanitaire et logistique offerte aux migrants de retour, notamment à travers l’accueil aux postes frontaliers, la distribution d’aide alimentaire, l’accès aux soins médicaux et la mise en place d’activités génératrices de revenus pour faciliter leur réinsertion socioéconomique.
Selon les chiffres de l’OIM, près de 60 000 migrants haïtiens ont été rapatriés depuis octobre 2024 — un volume qui exerce une pression croissante sur les capacités d’accueil et d’assistance du pays. Dans ce contexte, le soutien de la France est jugé important pour le maintien des services essentiels aux frontières et dans les communautés d’accueil.
Cette initiative s’inscrit dans une dynamique de coopération entre la France, les agences des Nations unies et les autorités haïtiennes, face à un défi migratoire régional en constante aggravation.
