La peur s’installe à Port-au-Prince

Un lundi 3 février 2025, très tendu dans la capitale haïtienne. Face aux menaces des gangs armés, plusieurs établissements scolaires ont demandé aux parents de garder leurs enfants à la maison, tandis que des banques commerciales ont renvoyé leur personnel. La circulation fonctionne au ralenti dans certaines zones de la capitale.

Des affrontements entre la Police Nationale d’Haïti (PNH) et des bandits armés ont éclaté aux alentours de la rue Capois, de Magloire Ambroise et dans les zones avoisinantes, transformant ces quartiers en véritables champs de bataille. Des rafales de tirs résonnent, une situation qui paralyse les activités au coeur du centre ville.

Pour faire face à cette montée de violence, le ministre de la Justice, Me Patrick Pélissier, a donné des instructions fermes au directeur général a.i de la PNH, Rameau Normil. En réponse, ce dernier a ordonné le maintien de toutes les unités en alerte maximale afin de contrer la menace des gangs.
