Tchouaméni et Camavinga, eux, excellent dans la récupération et la projection, mais ne possèdent pas la fibre d’un meneur de jeu à la Busquets.
Le problème dépasse d’ailleurs le Real Madrid, le football mondial s’est appauvri en profils régulateurs, ces milieux capables de dicter le tempo, de contrôler le jeu et de faire respirer une équipe. Les rares qui existent — Enzo Fernández, Vitinha, Mac Allister, Rice — sont déjà au cœur de projets solides dans des clubs qui visent les sommets. Il semble donc difficile d’imaginer le Real les déloger, tant ils sont devenus essentiels à leurs équipes respectives.
Alonso a pourtant tenté des ajustements. Après l’intégration de Bellingham, il a choisi de positionner l’Anglais en numéro 10 et de faire reculer Arda Güler pour organiser le jeu. Mais l’essai n’a pas été concluant. Güler est un artiste, un numéro 10 à l’ancienne, brillant entre les lignes, inspiré dans la passe et le dribble, mais il lui manque l’intensité, le volume de jeu et la vision panoramique nécessaires pour orchestrer depuis plus bas.
Alors qu’Alonso cherche encore la formule magique, le Real Madrid se retrouve à la croisée des chemins. Faut-il persister dans la voie de la puissance physique au milieu, ou reconstruire un entrejeu plus cérébral et stratégique ?
Une chose est sûre, sans un nouveau maître à jouer, le Real risque de continuer à briller davantage par ses individualités que par cette maîtrise collective qui a longtemps fait sa légende.
