Les compétitions interuniversitaires organisées par le MJSAC et l’UNESCO arrivent à leur terme après plus de deux mois d’activités réunissant 30 universités du pays. Placé sous le thème « Le sport au service du développement et de la paix », l’événement a mis en avant la cohésion sociale, l’engagement de la jeunesse et la promotion d’une culture de paix.
Le Ministère de la Jeunesse, des Sports et de l’Action Civique (MJSAC), en partenariat avec l’Organisation des Nations Unies pour l’Éducation, la Science et la Culture (UNESCO), a tenu ce jeudi 27 novembre 2025 la cérémonie officielle marquant la fin des compétitions interuniversitaires, organisées du 21 septembre au 30 novembre 2025 et réunissant 30 universités du pays. Les finales se dérouleront les 29 et 30 novembre sous le thème : “Le sport au service du développement et de la paix”.
Lors de cette cérémonie, la chargée de communication de l’UNESCO en Haïti, Violine Thélusma, a salué l’engagement des autorités pour avoir facilité l’organisation de ces activités sportives dans le département de l’Ouest ainsi que dans plusieurs villes de province.
Elle a souligné que l’objectif principal de cette initiative était de renforcer la cohésion sociale entre les jeunes et de promouvoir une culture de paix en Haïti, tout en réaffirmant la détermination de l’UNESCO à soutenir toute action en faveur de la jeunesse, de la paix et de l’harmonie sociale.
Madame Thélusma a rappelé que les finales de basket-ball et de football prévues les samedi 29 et dimanche 30 novembre à Pétion-Ville représentent l’aboutissement de plusieurs semaines de compétitions interuniversitaires, et a promis que l’UNESCO continuera d’accompagner les autorités haïtiennes dans des initiatives similaires.
De son côté, Bermhan Gay, cadre du MJSAC, a félicité tous les participants pour le comportement exemplaire affiché durant l’ensemble du tournoi. Il a salué les efforts déployés par le ministère pour la réussite de cette activité nationale et a invité les amoureux du sport à assister aux finales au Parc Sainte-Thérèse et à la Place Boyer.
M. Gay a renouvelé l’engagement du MJSAC à poursuivre l’organisation d’événements sportifs dans tout le pays, tout en encourageant les partenaires et acteurs nationaux à appuyer ces initiatives essentielles au développement des jeunes.
