Une jeunesse sacrifiée sur l’autel de l’insécurité

En Haïti, aujourd’hui, les rêves semblent parfois se briser avant même d’avoir eu le temps d’exister. Pour la majorité des jeunes vivant dans les quartiers populaires, il devient presque impossible de se projeter au-delà de la nuit qui s’achève. Une nuit où les détonations d’armes lourdes résonnent comme une sinistre mélodie, rythmée par la douleur et l’angoisse.

La situation des jeunes en Haïti, dans un contexte de crise sécuritaire persistante, est alarmante. La violence généralisée, alimentée par des gangs armés contrôlant une grande partie du pays, plonge la population dans un climat permanent de peur et d’incertitude. Face à cette réalité, nombre de jeunes se perdent. Leurs rêves s’effacent peu à peu, engloutis par la rudesse du quotidien.

Dans le quartier de Delmas 33, non loin du marché Cubain, des habitants de Delmas 32, chassés de chez eux par la violence des gangs, dorment désormais dans les rues, privés de tout refuge.

Williams, ancien étudiant de l’Institut National d’Administration, de Gestion et des Hautes Études Internationales (INAGHEI), témoigne de son désarroi : “J’ai suivi toutes les étapes qu’on m’a enseignées : j’ai étudié, poursuivi des études universitaires, fréquenté une école professionnelle… Et pourtant, me voilà aujourd’hui, sans abri, au bord de la rue.

À quelques mètres de lui, Lara, étudiante finissante de l’École Normale Supérieure (ENS), exprime une révolte mêlée de désespoir : “Prendre une arme, en sachant qu’elle se retournera tôt ou tard contre moi… Est-ce la seule solution qui m’est offerte, chers dirigeants ?”

Des paroles glaçantes, qui témoignent la détresse et les attentes déçues de toute une génération. Jadis, ces jeunes croyaient en l’éducation comme unique porte de sortie. Aujourd’hui, même ce rêve semble leur être arraché.
