UNESCO soutien les journalistes en cette période difficile en Haïti

Pour marquer la journée mondiale de la liberté de la Presse ce 3 mai 2024, l’Organisation des Nations unies pour l’Éducation, la Science et la Culture distribue des matériels pour la sécurité des journalistes couvrant la crise sur le terrain en cette période difficile.

Plus d’une dizaine de journalistes de différentes associations ont pris part à cette activité à la rue Geffrard à Pétion-Ville où loge le bureau de ladite organisation. Parmi les matériels, on peut citer : des casques, des gilets par balles et des masques à gaz. Ce soutien a été rendu possible grâce au mécanisme de réponse aux crises du fonds mondial pour la défense des médias, lit-on dans son communiqué de presse en cette même occasion.

Robest Dimanche du Collectif des Médias en Ligne (CMEL) salue cette activité aussi noble et, par ailleurs, remercie l’UNESCO qui depuis des années se fait le devoir d’accompagner les journalistes.
