Violence contre des journalistes, le CMEL sort de son silence.

Le collectif des médias en ligne condamne avec la plus grande rigueur la violence d’agents de police contre des journalistes depuis les vagues de protestations entamées contre le locataire de la primature. C’est ce qu’explique une note de l’association des journalistes.

Le CMEL affirme avoir déjà dénombré plus de 11 journalistes victimes de ces bavures policières dans tout le pays. À titre d’illustration, l’organisation cite entre autres les cas de deux journalistes victimes d’agressions le 7 février au Cap-Haïtien. Il évoque aussi les cas d’un autre confrère victime de répression à cette même date à Port-au-Prince et de trois autres confrères victimes de tirs de projectiles à Jérémie.

Aussi, le collectif des Médias en ligne déplore le cas d’un journaliste victime de blessures à ses testicules et de 3 autres ont été victimes de répression aux Cayes sans oublier le jeune journaliste ayant perdu son œil gauche à coup de gaz lacrymogène à Port-au-Prince hier 8 février.

Face à ces multiples cas de violence, le CMEL se dit inquiet et même scandalisé contre la violation de la liberté de la presse et la liberté d’expression et demande à l’inspection générale de la PNH de se pencher sur ces cas en vue de fixer sans délai les responsabilités.
