Face à la multiplication des actes de violence, d’humiliation et de traitements inhumains infligés aux femmes enceintes et allaitantes d’origine haïtienne en République dominicaine, plusieurs organisations haïtiennes montent au créneau.
La branche féminine du parti Rasin Pèp, le Groupe d’Appui aux Rapatriés et Réfugiés (GARR), ainsi que d’autres structures engagées dans la défense des droits humains dénoncent fermement ces abus, tout en tirant la sonnette d’alarme sur les conditions déplorables dans lesquelles vivent de nombreuses femmes déplacées à l’intérieur d’Haïti.
Dans ce contexte de crise humanitaire prolongée, ces organisations appellent à une mobilisation nationale et internationale pour la protection des femmes vulnérables, en particulier celles confrontées à l’exclusion et aux violences systémiques.
Un membre de l’organisation APK a lancé un appel à l’unité des institutions publiques, des ONG, et des acteurs de la société civile pour défendre la dignité et les droits de ces femmes trop souvent réduites au silence.
En guise d’action concrète, la militante Islanda Aduel a annoncé un sit-in se tiendra ce vendredi 23 mai à partir de 10h devant le Ministère des Affaires Étrangères à Port-au-Prince. L’objectif : exiger que l’État haïtien assume pleinement ses responsabilités diplomatiques et intervienne face aux exactions commises contre ses ressortissantes en territoire dominicain.
Les initiateurs de cette mobilisation espèrent ainsi attirer l’attention de l’opinion publique et de la communauté internationale sur l’urgence d’une réponse forte et coordonnée à ces violations graves des droits humains.
