Wanderson Zamy, un nom dont on se souviendra

La paroisse Saint-Pierre de Pétion-Ville a été submergée ce mercredi 27 août 2025 par une foule émue et révoltée, venue dire un dernier adieu à Wanderson Zamy. Entre larmes, colère et appels à justice, la cérémonie s’est transformée en un moment de deuil collectif et de révolte silencieuse contre la violence qui décime la jeunesse haïtienne.

Les funérailles de Wanderson Zamy ont été célébrées ce mercredi 27 août 2025 en présence de sa famille, de ses camarades de classe du Collège Canado-Haïtien, ainsi que d’une foule immense venue de partout, au point que la paroisse Saint-Pierre de Pétion-Ville n’a pas pu contenir l’assistance.

Le cercueil, recouvert du drapeau de son établissement, a été accueilli avec émotion par ses camarades qui se sont tenus debout pour saluer son entrée solennelle avant d’être déposé au pied de l’autel. Sa meilleure amie et camarade de classe, Rose Romain, d’une voix brisée par l’angoisse, a assuré la lecture de la Parole de Dieu, marquant d’une empreinte poignante la célébration de la vie de son ami disparu.

Dans son homélie, le père Arsène Jasmin, co-célébrant et curé de la paroisse du Sacré-Cœur de Turgeau, a présenté le jeune Zamy comme « un ami du Cœur Sacré de Jésus », rappelant son engagement en tant que servant de messe. « C’était un frère, un fils de l’Église, mais qui n’a pas eu le temps de recevoir la confirmation de sa réussite au baccalauréat », a-t-il déclaré d’une voix émue et révoltée. Le prêtre a rappelé que la Parole de Dieu doit être source de force et de lumière dans ces heures sombres, affirmant avec conviction que « l’enfant de chœur de Turgeau a déjà sa place réservée auprès du Père dans les cieux ».

De son côté, le père Japhet Joseph, vicaire de la paroisse et célébrant principal, a exprimé son indignation : « Konbyen Zamy ki pou tonbe ? S’en est trop ! ». Tout au long de la cérémonie, enfants, jeunes et adultes n’ont pu retenir leurs larmes, laissant éclater des cris d’amertume face à ce drame atroce. Plusieurs jeunes arboraient des maillots portant l’inscription : « Zamy Wanderson, à jamais dans nos cœurs ».

Aucune délégation de haut niveau de l’État n’était présente, alors même que le jeune basketteur, né le 16 septembre 2006, a été tué par balle par un agent de sécurité du ministère de l’Éducation nationale. L’avocat Me Arnel Rémy, qui assistait à la cérémonie, a affirmé être prêt à accompagner la famille dans la quête de justice, afin que les responsables de ce crime odieux répondent de leurs actes.

La cérémonie s’est achevée dans une atmosphère profondément émouvante lors de l’absoute et de l’encensement du cercueil par le Rév. Père Hans Alexandre, ancien curé de la paroissedu Sacré-Cœur. Bien qu’un membre de la famille ait demandé que seuls les proches suivent le corbillard, une foule nombreuse a tout de même accompagné la dépouille dans une marche pacifique à travers les rues de Pétion-Ville, sous la vigilance des forces de l’ordre qui ont assuré la circulation.
