M. Sarkozy, qui nie toujours toute implication, sera détenu dans une unité spéciale pour raisons de sécurité. Son épouse, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, a dénoncé une décision « injuste et politique », tandis que plusieurs figures de la droite française ont exprimé leur soutien à l’ancien président.
